Kayak The Douro River Across Portugal 10-Day tour

Exceeded expectations! The scenery, the guides, the accommodations, the food, the wine, the port. It was all wonderful. First the scenery is stunning. From the terraced high country, with the beautiful villages on the ridges, down through forested mid valley, and finally the historic Porto, you have your hands on your camera as much as your paddles. Each day was punctuated by a first class accommodation sometimes is a fully refurbished Quinta on a hill, or a splendid villa on the river. Dinners were similarly outstanding. A highlight was the riverside lunches prepared by the guides all accompanied by regionally appropriate wines. The guides became part of the group in that their manner was very congenial, personable and yet professional. I am a intermediate kayaker, and while I enjoyed the challenge of paddling 10-16 miles per day, it never felt impossible.
