Overview

One of the world’s largest lagoon systems, Magdalena Bay on Baja’s Pacific side is where ocean currents meet and whales are born. Paddle through intricate mazes of bird-rich mangroves, see a frigatebird colony, and explore the wild mountain-fringed mouth of the bay. Visit with gray whales that come to mate and give birth. Motor-support and resupply facilitate this extended journey led by certified local kayak guide Marcos Simental, who grew up fishing here.

Loreto, Baja California Sur

Transfer to San Carlos, paddle south through the bay. Enjoy a resupply and day of whale watching from a motorboat partway through. Transfer back to Loreto at end.

Mexico's Magdalena Bay Waves And WIldlife

At Sea Kayak Baja Mexico we are passionate about paddling, and it shows in our gear selection: sporty British-style single kayaks, mostly Nigel Dennis (SKUK) with alternate options and doubles available if preferred. High-end fiberglass and carbon Werner paddles, fine Beale Greenland paddles, Kokatat and similar life jackets, Seals skirts. Many outdoor enthusiasts bring their own camping gear, but you may also rent a Hubba Hubba tent, Therm-a-Rest mattress.
