Overview

One of the world’s largest lagoon systems, Magdalena Bay on Baja’s Pacific side is where ocean currents meet and whales are born. Paddle through intricate mazes of bird-rich mangroves, see a frigatebird colony, and explore the wild mountain-fringed mouth of the bay. Visit with gray whales that come to mate and give birth. Motor-support and resupply facilitate this extended journey led by certified local kayak guide Marcos Simental, who grew up fishing here.
