Up North Adventures is an award-winning adventure travel outfitter based in downtown Whitehorse, Yukon. We have been helping people from all over the world experience one of the most unique places on Earth since 1991! Our complete selection of trips and tours are designed to help you experience and enjoy the Yukon year round.

Overview

Join us on the wilderness journey of a lifetime and experience natural splendour dotted with historical sites and plenty of wildlife. Your adventure begins in the small town of Faro, nestled in the gorgeous North Canol Region of the Yukon, and finishes in Pelly Crossing. After Faro, the Pelly leaves the road behind and you are in serious back country.
The river flows with steady current through rolling hills. There is mountain scenery, great camping on riverside gravel bars and plenty of time to leave your civilized stresses behind. About three kilometers above the confluence of the Glenlyon River is Little Fish Hook Rapid. Big Fish Hook Rapid is downstream, where the river swings sharply left at a cliff. Both rapids are class II. Granite Canyon, below the MacMillan confluence, has the Pelly's last whitewater. The current is fast and there are some sizable waves. The canyon is class II at medium water, but would be more intimidating when the river is high. Needle Rock, a toothy rock formation, pokes out of the river near the bottom of the canyon. There is a trail and a campsite at Needle Rock Creek. The Klondike Highway and Pelly Crossing, home of the Selkirk First Nation, are not far downstream.
