Norman Wells, Northwest Territories
Transfer from Norman Wells Airport to the float plane docks and fly to the Keele River. Day 2 - 11, paddle 300km downriver, viewing the changing landscape through the Indigenous lens of your Dene guides. Day 12- 13 motorboat shuttle to Norman Wells with an overnight cultural experience in Tulit'a.
Dates & Packages
NWT - Keele River Cultural Rafting Trip
- Guides at 1:6 ratio.
- Delicious meals and snacks from Day 1 lunch to Day 13 breakfast.
Rafting Equipment:
- Expedition outfitted raft
- paddles, PFDs, throw bags,
- paddling suits (semi-dry) and helmets.
Camping Equipment:
- Tents – free-standing expedition dome tents – 2 per tent;
- Kitchen – tarp, firebox, cooking stoves, utensils, dishes, etc.;
- Containers for food and group equipment;
- 10-15L dry bag, 115L dry bag,
Safety Equipment:
- first aid, safety, river rescue and repair kits
- communications equipment (satellite phone)
(double occupancy):
- 11 nights wilderness camping
- 1 night in Tulit'a (Day 12)
Included Travel:
- Ground transfer between Norman Wells Airport and Black Feather Base / float plane docks - Day 1
- Charter float plane flight from Norman Wells to the Keele – Day 1
- Charter motorboat shuttle of group and gear from the mouth of the Keele River to Tulit'a (Day 12) and then on to Norman Wells - Day 13
- Ground transfer between float plane docks to Norman Wells Airport - Day 13
- Transportation of guides, group gear, food, etc. to Norman Wells
