Overview

Included in National Geographic Canada's 50 Places of a Lifetime, the Discovery Islands are a kayaker's paradise and considered to be one of the West Coast's best kept secrets. Launching from breathtaking Rebecca Spit Provincial Park located in Quadra Island's Heriot Bay, kayakers venture into the group of sparsely inhabited islands to explore the myriad of channels, bays, coves, points and passages.
Enjoy a relaxing start with your first night accommodation and a pre-trip briefing included at one of Quadra Island’s local hotels. You will explore several of the Discovery Islands on this 6 day expedition, setting up camp at different locations on remote beaches, and lighting campfires under the starry skies. Delicious fresh meals, prepared each day by your guides will keep you nourished and ready for the next day’s paddling adventure. On land, there are walks through ancient forests, swims in fresh water lakes and tide pools to explore. The Discovery Islands host abundant wildlife including sea lions, seals, pacific white-sided dolphins, otters, colourful birds and some of the largest starfish and clams in the world. Playful seals and seal pups often approach sea kayaks. Even transient Orcas and Humpback Whales have at times been spotted during this trip. Your expert guides add their flair providing an experience like no other!
