Overview

Whales, Bears, Glamping – this trip has it all! Wildcoast Adventures 7 day/6 night Whale & Bears Kayaking Adventure combines 2 nights in a local hotel, a day tour into the wilderness seeking out wildlife, and the luxury of a 3 night 4 day remote glamping and kayaking experience at Orca camp. The camp is tucked away, under a canopy of old ancient cedars, directly beside the Robson Bight Ecological Reserve, an area established to protect key habitats for killer whales.
June through August, the adventure starts with a 6 hour boat tour exploring the Discovery Passage and surrounding Islands. Your guide will seek out Dall's Porpoise, Pacific White-Sided Dolphins, Sea Lions, Black Bears and Whales. Fall is Grizzly Bear season when you travel aboard a high-speed boat into the Orford River Valley to view Grizzlies in the wild. The next day guests are taken by boat to Wildcoast's remote Orca Camp, where whales often feed in the kelp beds just off the Orca Camp beach. Safari style tents, comfy beds with linen and duvets ensure that you get a good night’s rest between your paddling excursions. Delicious hearty food is an essential element to any wilderness adventure and the camp chef ensures guests are well catered for. When not on the water relax in the wood fired hot tub and sauna, or explore the beach and soak up the peace and tranquility as you lookout for whales and other wildlife. It’s a magical place!
