Paddle through the stunning Saguenay Fjord on a 8-day kayaking adventure! Explore towering cliffs, camp in remote wilderness, and spot belugas along the way. Start in Québec City, end in historic Tadoussac, and experience epic scenery, great food, and unforgettable moments on the water!
Day 1:
Arrive in charming Québec City, soak in its old-world charm, and grab lunch before we meet at 1 PM. Then, we drive through the stunning Laurentides Wildlife Reserve to Saguenay. After checking into Hôtel Chicoutimi, we explore the city's rich history and end the day with a delicious local dinner.
Day 2:
After breakfast, drive to Ste-Rose du Nord and launch into the breathtaking Saguenay Fjord. Towering cliffs, deep waters, and diverse wildlife set the scene as we paddle nine miles through this ancient waterway. A shoreline lunch break offers time to explore before we continue to Baie de la Trinié.
Day 3:
After breakfast, we paddle past towering cliffs and sunbathing seals, stopping for lunch beneath Cape Eternity. By evening, we reach camp at Anse du Portage for dinner and a campfire under the stars.
Day 4:
We start the day with breakfast and stories of the fjord as we paddle past islands and wildlife. After lunch near Île Saint Louis, we head to Baie-Ste-Marguerite, where belugas gather. At Anse aux Ilets-Rouges, we take in the views before dinner.
Day 5:
After breakfast and packing up camp, we kayak towards Anse Passe-Pierre, watching belugas swim alongside us. Their signature calls echo off the cliffs as we paddle. We stop for lunch at Ste-Étienne beach, relax, and explore before continuing.
Day 6:
We start the day with breakfast at sunrise, then paddle calm waters toward Passe à Pierre, following the belugas' migration route. After lunch on the cape, we take a whale-watching cruise in the Saint-Lawrence estuary before returning to camp for our final night on the fjord.
Day 7:
On our final morning, we enjoy breakfast before paddling toward the confluence of the St. Lawrence and Saguenay rivers. After lunch near Tadoussac, we explore the historic village and its landmarks, like the Old Chapel. We end the day with a meal at Chez Mathilde, celebrating our journey.
Day 8:
We gather for our last breakfast before departing for the journey back to Québec City, where we'll arrive around noon. Safe travels ahead!
