Overview

Pioneers of sea kayaking in Cuba, we offer numerous itineraries to this exciting kayak destination. We kayak 2-4 hours a day and then enjoy the culture, music and people of Cuba while staying in boutique hotels or BnB's along the way. Paddle your way through sparkling Caribbean waters and snorkel over reefs full of life and color. Our east Cuba kayak tour paddles the Atlantic with plenty of culture and time to discover Cuba's wild and natural spirit.

Expertly crafted and led by local Cuban guides, our tours are 8-days in length. The Cuba West kayak tour starts and ends in Havana, while the East tour starts and ends in Holguin. These tours combine the fun of sea kayaking with rich cultural interactions with the Cuban people. We walk, explore, paddle and learn on these immersive journeys to a country that is in some ways lost in time.

Havana, Cuba,

Immerse yourself in Cuban culture and lifestyle over the course of 8 days. All from the seat of your kayak, learn the rich history of the country and its tumultuous past, experience the flavors of the region, and enrich yourself in the natural environment of this Caribbean country.

Day 1:

Join the group for a walking tour of historic Havana, followed by an orientation meeting to prepare you for the adventure ahead. Spend the rest of the evening explore Havana’s nightlife or art scene!

Day 2:

Leaving the hustle and bustle of Havana behind, we’ll embark on our journey exploring Cuban wetlands. We’ll visit a Cuban Crocodile breeding facility before continuing on to Playa Larga where we’ll launch for our first paddle. After kayaking, we’ll enjoy a traditional festive Cuban meal.

Full Itinerary

Day 3:

Experience a day full of environmental education learning about nearby flora and fauna. We’ll venture through Zapata National Park and the remaining Zapata Peninsula. We’ll learn about the tropical ecosystem we’re paddling through and have time to snorkel amongst the coral reefs.

Day 4:

Today we’ll explore a botanical garden and tour a museum that showcases much of Cuba’s tumultuous history. We’ll find our way to Trinidad in the afternoon before exploring the town and resting there for the night.

Day 5:

We’ll kayak along the Rio Guaurabo river and admire the views of Trinidad from the water. After paddling the local river, we’ll take a walking tour of historic Trinidad and spend the afternoon learning from local artists on how art, culture, and history intersect in Cuba.

Day 6:

Continuing the adventure, we’ll kayak the Laguna Guanaroca Nature Reserve and arrive in Cienfuegos. Home to some of Cuba’s most distinctive architecture, spend the afternoon exploring the town and culture.

Day 7:

For our last day on the water, we’ll paddle back toward Havana, stopping at museums and monuments along the way. Later in the evening we’ll gather dinner all together at a private restaurant to cheers to the adventure!

Adios Cuba!
