Black Bear Lodge - Port McNeil
Port McNeil, British Columbia
Start the adventure with an orientation in Port McNeill, then embark on a water taxi to the Broughton Archipelago. Spend days kayaking, hiking, and wildlife watching while camping in stunning locations. Explore First Nations culture, enjoy gourmet meals, and conclude with a return to Telegraph Cove.
Day 1:
Board a water taxi to Broughton Archipelago. Explore camp, enjoy a kayak orientation, and paddle among scenic islets. Relax with happy hour and a gourmet camp dinner. (Paddling: 5–8 miles).
Day 2:
Kayak through protected waters, explore tidepools, and hike island trails. Learn from guides about wildlife and First Nations culture. End the day with happy hour and dinner at camp. (Paddling: 7–10 miles).
Day 3:
Paddle Blackfish Sound, a prime spot for whale watching. Enjoy wildlife sightings, open-water crossings, and gourmet meals while camping at scenic locations. (Paddling: 7–10 miles).
Day 4:
Explore Johnstone Strait’s marine landscape, kayak along forested shorelines, and discover local history. Evenings feature relaxation and stunning views. (Paddling: 7–10 miles).
Day 5:
Wrap up paddling with more wildlife encounters and island hikes. Savor your final gourmet camp dinner and toast to an incredible week. (Paddling: 7–10 miles).
Day 6:
Paddle to Telegraph Cove or Port McNeill. Visit the Whale Interpretive Center and return by water taxi. Optional farewell dinner in Port McNeill. (Paddling: 7–8 miles).
