Black Bear Lodge, Port McNeil
Port McNeil, British Columbia
Start with a scenic transport from Port McNeill to Telegraph Cove, then paddle through orca-rich waters to our beachside basecamp for gourmet dining and stargazing. Days 2-3 offer sea kayaking, whale watching, and Robson Bight exploration, with evenings around campfires and natural history talks.
Day 1:
Begin your adventure with a scenic transfer from Port McNeill to Telegraph Cove. After a kayaking orientation, paddle calm waters to a favorite lunch spot before continuing to our base camp. Settle in with a gourmet dinner, stargazing, and the soothing sounds of orcas nearby.
Day 2:
Set out on a paddling adventure to the edges of Robson Bight Orca Preserve. Spot orcas, porpoises, and bald eagles as you explore the coastline. Return to camp for a delicious dinner, stories around the campfire, and perhaps a glimpse of glowing bioluminescence.
Day 3:
Paddle to new destinations in Johnstone Strait, uncovering tide pools and secluded beaches. Marvel at the diverse marine life, from playful seals to sea lions. Back at camp, enjoy a hearty meal and reflect on the day’s adventures under the stars.
Day 4:
Enjoy a final morning paddle after a hearty breakfast before returning to Port McNeill, where you can join an optional farewell dinner with your group.
